JAZZ IN THE GARDEN AT BMoA
September 14 and October 12, 2024 • 11am - 1pm
The Bakersfield College Jazz Studies Program presents a series of free outdoor concerts at the Bakersfield Museum of Art, at 19th and R Streets downtown. Bring a blanket, your lunch, and some friends and enjoy live jazz in the beautiful, shady Tejon Sculpture Garden. Featuring BC students, alumni, and jazz faculty. Sponsored by The Hub of Bakersfield and Bakersfield Second Saturday.
PANORAMA CREATIVE MUSIC SUMMIT
September 25, 2024 • Simonsen Performing Arts Center
Presented by the Bakersfield College Jazz Studies Program, the Panorama Creative Music Summit is a showcase for new and original music by visiting artists, local performers, and BC faculty, students, and alumni. The eighth annual summit will include a free public concert in the Simonsen Performing Arts Center on September 25 at 7pm, as the innovative Los Angeles based violinist and composer Lauren Elizabeth Baba leads students in a performance of her extraordinary new music for big band, plus new music performed by the Jazz Combos.
BAKERSFIELD JAZZ WORKSHOP

The Bakersfield College Jazz Combos directed by Kris Tiner, Kyle Burnham, and Paul Cierley will be the featured artist at the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop which takes place on Tuesday nights at Sundale Country Club, 6218 Sundale Ave, Bakersfield.
Free admission, all ages welcome.
APPLIED MUSIC RECITAL - JAZZ STUDIES

Music majors in the applied music program for jazz studies present their final combo projects, plus new student compositions.

The BC Jazz Ensemble directed by Kris Tiner presents a concert of classic and contemporary works for big band. The Jazz Combos will also perform original student compositions.
$12 general, $8 students. Tickets available online or at the door. Proceeds benefit the BC Jazz Studies Program.

KCMEA JAZZ DAY AT BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE

The Kern County Music Educators' Association and the Bakersfield College Jazz Studies Program are pleased to announce the 8th annual KCMEA Jazz Day at Bakersfield College. This all-day event will feature student jazz ensembles from throughout Kern County performing in the Simonsen Performing Arts Center Indoor Theater. The program will include special guests, noted clinicians, and showcase performances by the BC Jazz Ensemble and the Kern County Honor Jazz Band. Events in the Indoor Theater are free and open to the public.
BC JAZZ SPRING CONCERT

The Bakersfield College Jazz Ensemble directed by Kris Tiner performs classic and contemporary favorites, and the Kern County Honor Jazz Band brings top high school jazz musicians to the Simonsen Performing Arts Center stage for an exciting night of big band jazz!

PERFORMING ARTS COMBINED CONCERT
April 30, 2025 • 7:00PM • PAC Outdoor Theater
Performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Choirs, Concert Band, Flute Choir, and BC/CSUB Orchestra. Pieces will include inspiring and uplifting choral music, iconic big band songs, rousing fanfares, and string orchestra classics.
